Videos

Here are a few videos of behaviours I've trained for TV, film, and just for fun.  All the behaviours were trained using reward-based methods, which is a great way to spend quality time with your pet, and to mentally stimulate them.

Please excuse the training clothes, animals are not too fussy about what I wear!

Training Alfie and Shadow for the bedtime mini-movie - Episode 3 of Dogs Might Fly.

Training my cat Zep to "fish" for a television commercial.  You can see the commercial at the bottom of the "Why choose me" page.

Teaching Bo the Border Collie to fetch a tissue for me when I sneeze.

Training my cat Hemi to go to his bed on command.

Here I am training "Captain" the boar to pretend to attack a stuntman, to lie down, and to become still when "stabbed" with a spear. The behaviours are all clicker trained.

Casper the Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo makes a deposit - a good example of "chaining" different behaviours together.

This is my dog Minty being trained for her role as ring bearer for our wedding!

Training Hemi to turn on our heating!

And finally for a bit of fun, a commercial for which I trained mice!

A placement command is useful at times of high excitement/arousal. Pepper gets very excited when the baby carrier comes out as she knows there is a good chance she is going on a walk. This is nice way to give myself and Finn some space.

Getting distance with a stay like this is pretty easy, it's a stay amid distractions that's the challenge!
